Hi, I love weather so much and am going to school to focus on severe weather research... none of my friends or family share my passion for weather so i can't tell them anything. so i joined this.
Katrina is a Killer... this is probably going to be the strongest hurricane recorded. Hurricane Camile was the strongest in 1969 with winds packed at 190mph and millibars at 905. This one is at 907 right now. I guarentee it will get stronger once it feeds off those 90 degree waters... thats why it became a 5 in the first place. I knew a "catigory 4" was completely underrated. If they kept a Saffir-Simpson scale going after 5, this hurricane would already be a Catigory 6 and close to a 7. Louisiana is below sea level so it's going to take forever to clean up. Predidcted storm surges over 28 feet. 32 is my prediction. Gas is going to go up again because of that oil rig by New Orleans.
Weather is something you can't control and affects not just one family, it affects millions of families. Thats why I'm fascinated by it... anyone else feel the same?
